European Languages

French has been taught for many years by Madame Fleming to 6th class students of Shountrade National School.  Our students enter 1st year with a good working knowledge of basic French.   Teachers and BOM believe that these classes are an invaluable introduction to the most widely chosen European language in our Secondary schools.  Our thanks to Madame Fleming for teaching French in an enjoyable and vibrant manner and for sharing their expertise in this beautiful language.

We welcome the introduction of conversational German to Shountrade.  Mrs. Alice Ruppin-Giltenane teaches German to our sixth class students every afternoon for one week of the second term.  Our students are privileged in their exposure to two popular european languages and, this in turn helps their decision making as they choose their languages in secondary school.
